One person has been confirmed infected with corona after the costume awards party on October 14.
The party was criticized for too frequent smoking breaks, mingling and apparent violations of infection control rules. The district superintendent in the St. Hanshaugen district said the event broke the rules, with more than fifty people in attendance.
According to the Oslo Municipality rules, there can be up to 200 people at an event, as long as everyone has fixed seats and is one meter apart. They had it, according to the organizer. Guests are also said to have been informed that they were not allowed to mingle, writes general manager Stig Ove Gulbrandsen at the Nova Vista event agency, which hosted the party, in an email to Dagbladet.
Gulbrandsen regrets that someone is now infected.

In a press release Saturday night, Gulbrandsen stated that all participants and employees had been contacted in accordance with regulations.

The infection tracking team in Frogner district is said to have stated that the infected person was only present for an hour and that the person had no contact with anyone during this time.
Dagbladet failed to reach the Frogner district on Saturday night.

– We believe we have conducted extensive assessments of how infection control requirements should be met. Both the St. Hanshaugen District Superintendent and the Oslo Municipality Business Administration have provided advice and guidance regarding the interpretation of infection control requirements. Representatives of the Oslo municipality rental company, which was in charge of renting the premises, also participated in the process. We were prepared, we were careful and we followed the rules and more than that.
– Could something different have been done on your part in order to limit the spread of the infection?

– We will evaluate this in hindsight. However, we are sure that we have implemented very strict infection measures according to the rules and more, says Gulbrandsen.
Ask people to stay home
– In consultation with the Frogner District Superintendent, we are asked to encourage those who may have corona symptoms to stay home and have a low threshold to register for testing. We regret this and hope that the infected person is well and that no other guests or employees have been infected, writes Gulbrandsen.
The costume editor writes in a press release that they have tried to abide by the current rules.
– We trust Nova Vista and its evaluations on how the costume awards were carried out according to government guidelines. We support the infection monitoring that is taking place now, and hope that the infected person will have an uncomplicated course of illness, writes Costume editor Kine B. Hartz in the press release.
Change: The case was updated on 22.53 October 17, 2020, with a clarification that according to the rules of the municipality of Oslo, 200 people are allowed in a room, as long as you have fixed places and maintain a distance of one subway.
