In the photo from the fashion magazine Trendi, the 34-year-old prime minister poses in a tight-fitting blazer and necklace. It was too much for some, who thought the clothes were too daring and unprofessional for a woman in her position.
After the magazine published the minister’s photo on its Instagram account, the reactions have been received, among other things, by people who thought it was inappropriate.
However, critics face strong opposition and a number of Finnish women and men are now posing as photos on social media, wearing the same type of jacket, as a statement of support for Sanna Marin, Yle writes.

Egen hashtag
Before long, the hashtag #imwithsanna appeared, and hundreds of photos of celebrities and others were posted in defense of the Prime Minister.
Marin supporters also note that women are often judged on their appearance, while male politicians who pose naked, such as Russian President Vladimir Putin, are not criticized for their unprofessional behavior.
The youngest in the world
According to Yle, this isn’t the first time that Marin has been in the spotlight. She has made a career as a kite since she became mayor of her hometown of Tampere at the age of 27. At the age of 34, she became the Prime Minister of the world.
She herself has openly stated that she grew up as an only child in a poor family and a single mother. Her father had a drinking problem and her parents divorced when she was little.
In interviews, she has recounted the discrimination she experienced when her mother was in a relationship with another woman.
She has also said that she was not very good at school and had trouble getting into high school. She then started working as a sales clerk, and at the same time became the first in the family to go to college.
Marin has so far refrained from commenting on the debate after the publication of the magazine this weekend.
