The actress, who is perhaps best known for her role as housekeeper Berta, died of complications following cardiac arrest on Monday, October 12.

Conchata Ferrell was surrounded by family members at Sherman Oaks Hospital in California when she died, multiple media outlets write, including the website’s deadline.

The actress became seriously ill with her kidneys in December last year and in May of this year she had a heart attack and remained in hospital for four weeks, writes the New York Times. She was on a ventilator and had to be treated with dialysis until her death.

Ferrell is probably best known for her role as Berta, the cheeky and cynical but also loving housekeeper, in the American sitcom “Two and a Half Men”, which has also aired on Norwegian television channels for twelve seasons.

The supporting role earned him two Emmy nominations, in 2005 and 2007.

The main role in the series was played towards the end by Ashton Kutcher, but was previously played by Charlie Sheen. He write on Twitter that the news of Ferrell’s death was a shock.

– And absolutely sweetheart. A true professional. A genuine friend. A shocking and painful loss, she writes, and comes with the following salute to her television housekeeper for many years:

– Berta, the way you took care of the house was a bit suspicious, but the way you took care of people was perfect.

Series producer Chuck Lorre describes Ferrell as “one of the greatest.”

– We call her Chatty. And we all love her. Twelve years of ups and downs and many, many laughs. Through all of this she was a rock, one of the biggest. “I had the privilege of calling her a friend,” she told Variety.

Actor Adam Sandler writes on Twitter that Ferrell will be deeply missed.

Conchata Ferrell also received an Emmy nomination for her role as “Susan Bloom” in LA Law and has starred in television series and movies, such as “Mystic Pizza,” “Heartland.” , “Erin Brockovich” and “Eduardo Scissorhands.”

Ferrell was born in West Virginia. She leaves behind her husband Arnie Anderson and her daughter Samantha Anderson.
