Ekstra Bladet, BT and Danish TV 2 are among the many outlets spearheading the news that Ståle Solbakken has ended up at FC Copenhagen.

The newspaper further writes that several are surprised that FCK has decided to fire Solbakken because the Norwegian is the most successful coach in the Super League.
Former BT sports editor Morten Crone Sejersbøl writes the following:

Danish goalkeeper legend Peter Schmeichel thinks Solbakken’s kick is just sad.

Jesper Grønkjær disagrees with the decision to fire the popular coach.

Solbakken first joined FC Copenhagen as a coach in 2006 and managed the club for almost six years before moving to Cologne. Solbakken had previously played for the Danish club in a meager season. He ended his career at the Danish club after suffering a cardiac arrest during training.
Solbakken was sacked in Cologne at the end of a tough 2011/12 season. He later coached Wolverhampton without success, before returning to Copenhagen in 2013.
There have been three league golds, three cup golds and group matches in the Champions League in the last period. However, the results this fall have not been good enough.
Solbakken’s assistant Bård Wiggen has also ended up at the club. Hjalte Bo Nørregaard has been appointed interim coach.
