Aston Villa have scored five goals in Sunday’s clash against Liverpool.

ASTON VILLA – LIVERPOOL 6-2 (THE BATTLE STILL CONTINUES):

Aston Villa have delivered a magnificent game so far against Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool, and are currently leading 6-2.

Newcomer Ollie Watkins has really ticked the bill, with his hat trick for the home team.

Shock start

Adrián had the opportunity in the absence of an injured Alisson, and after three minutes the Spaniard was on a whim. A foul ended on the legs of Jack Grealishm, who passed the ball to Watkins, who was confident when given the chance.

According to Opta Joe, this was Adrian’s fifth mistake to set him back in 21 games, and compared to fellow goalkeeper Alisson, he has made the same number of mistakes in 92 games.

– Adrian is not good enough as a substitute and he showed it again there, was the message from Jamie Carragher on Sky Sports after the score of 1-0.

Soon after, Grealish lunged forward, before sending the ball to rookie Ross Barkley. Unfortunately for the burgundy reds, the newcomer’s attempt was very weak.

Liverpool then had several great rap opportunities, but in the 22nd minute it was Villa who surprised the visiting team again when they increased the lead. Once again, it was Watkins who was up front when he literally hit the ball off the crossbar.

After half an hour of play, Liverpool’s first goal of the night finally came. Diogo Jota threw the ball in, before finally ending up with Salah, who was relentless when given the chance.

– What’s going on?

In the immediate aftermath of Liverpool’s goal, Villa’s players surprised the visiting team, not just once, but twice more.

First, McGinn hit a return on the foot from Virgil Van Dijk, before the ball ended up behind an outscored Adrian. Soon after, Watkins reappeared on the field after a free throw, increasing the lead to 4-1.

– What happens every day in Birmingham, exclaimed commentator Simen Stamsø Møller after the score of 4-1.

The second half started like the first, with Villa scoring. Barkley and Grealish were combined in the future before Barkley decided to try his luck. The 26-year-old’s shot went past Trent Alexander-Arnold’s foot, in a beautiful arc over Adrian in the Liverpool cage.

– This is great, said Stamsø Møller when the 5-1 position was a given.

With half an hour left in the game, Salah was again dangerous up front, reducing to 5-2.

But what little hope Liverpool fans had after that goal of returning to the game, Grealish died six minutes later. The 25-year-old appeared within 16 meters, before sending the ball through Fabinho to goal.
