Synnøve Skarbø lost the duel and had to leave “Skal vi danse”. Too soon, she thinks to herself.

Standing applause and excited judges marked Saturday’s broadcast of “Let’s Dance.” Through the dance, the participants had to tell a turning point in life with the theme “I will never forget that.”

For the first time in this year’s season, two of the contestants had to duel. Synnøve Skarbø and Siri Kristiansen had the fewest combined spectator votes and judge points, and thus had to dance again.

Both duelists danced cha-cha-cha. In the end, it was Kristiansen and his partner Tarjei Svalastog who won the duel, and Skarbø who had to give up the dance.

– I’m sorry, but I want to say that I love you here and I want to thank you for a wonderful time. I couldn’t get a better dance partner, Skarbø said on television about the Santino Mirenna dance partner.

– And to all of you: my God, I will miss you, he added.

– Shit!

For VG, Skarbø makes it even clearer how he feels going out:

– Shit! Simply. I wanted to be a part of 16 seasons, so I had bigger plans for myself. I might not have imagined standing with the trophy over my head on November 21, but I wanted to learn more dance and get beyond the fifth show.

– How should you console yourself?

– No alcohol? Hahaha! No, I have a car, so it’s outside. I have to say tell the gang, and that’s what I fear the most. Only now do I realize that there will be no more dance training. I will greatly miss life in the “bubble”, it is like being in a confirmation camp.

The judges were divided on the question of who they thought won the duel. Trine Dehli Cleve and Tore Petterson thought Siri Kristiansen should move on. Egor Filipenko and Merete Lingjærde thought it should be Synnøve Skarbø.

They told you about postpartum depression

As her moment she will never forget, Skarbø chose to recount the postpartum depression that characterized her after the birth of her daughter Lydia eight years ago.

– I couldn’t feel what I expected from a new mother, said Skarbø.

To gain control of something in life, he started cleaning. It had a positive effect on his psyche and it eventually became a job.

Skarbø’s cha-cha-cha with Katy Perry’s “Firework #” got good feedback from the judges, but Judge Tore Petterson thought it could break even more. Skarbø finished with 29 points from the judges.

I got standing ovations

Among those who touched the judges was Agnete “Agnetesh” Husebye (24). She danced slowly to the story of how her mother experienced cancer when Agnete was only 10 years old.

Michael Andreassen received standing ovations for his jive about getting his life back after detox.

– It really hit me in the heart, Andreassen said about the audience response.

Andreassen finished at the top of the judges’ points table along with Andreas Wahl. Surprisingly, Wahl finished in the top three with the fewest points combined.

But the standing ovations also got Nate Kahungu, who danced the rumba and recounted a difficult time growing up. He said he was bullied because he was different and that he finally defended himself by harassing others.

– I took a stand against myself and decided to spread positivity. It is wonderful to be the person I am today.

Judge Merete Lingjærde praised Kahungu for her strong presence on a necessary issue and said there should be zero tolerance for discrimination and racism.
