Police believe that a relative of murder suspect Tom Hagen (70) has tried to influence a key witness in the criminal case.

Now the relative is accused under article 157 of the Penal Code; «in the event of threats or other unlawful conduct towards an actor of the judiciary, having acted in such a way as to be appropriate to influence the actor to commit or omit an act in connection with a criminal case».

The relative in question has been appointed as defense attorney Trond Eirik Aansløkken at Djerv Advokatfirma.

– I can confirm that my client is charged. She does not admit criminal guilt after indictment, Aansløkken tells VG.

The police have received new advice on the mystery man – watch the video of the route here:

According to information from VG, the central witness has been in at least two police interrogations since Anne-Elisabeth Hagen disappeared almost two years ago:

Here, the witness, among other things, has provided the police with information about a previous conflict with murder suspect Tom Hagen, as well as detailed information about the marriage between Tom and Anne-Elisabeth Hagen.

VG has previously mentioned that it is precisely the marriage that is essential for the police in the search for a possible motive. Tom Hagen himself denies criminal guilt. He says he has nothing to do with his wife’s disappearance, and in previous interrogations he has gone through reasons that are common and that he could have had, and has ruled out all of them.

It was in connection with an interrogation this summer that the witness filed a police report against Hagen’s relative under the influence of the witness.

The background to the report was due in part to a telephone conversation in early summer between the witness and the family member.

According to information from VG, the witness explained to the police that the conversation was perceived as threatening. Furthermore, the witness has explained that it was perceived as an attempt to influence previous police statements.

The witness has also explained to the police on the written communication that the person in question believes he supports this.

Defendant’s defender fights back:

– The review appears to be contrived, but unfortunately I cannot comment further due to ongoing research, says Aansløkken.

VG has contacted the witness, but does not want to comment on the case.

VG has also been in contact with Tom Hagen’s defense attorney, attorney Svein Holden. He also does not want to comment on the case.

The Eastern Police District states in an email to VG that they do not have the opportunity to answer questions about the case due to vacation cancellations.
