Premier League, Manchester United | Body language expert believes Solskjær reveals himself when asked about transitions

Ole Gunnar Solskjær is closely followed by the British media as the transition window draws to a close.

While one of Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s fiercest rival managers, Chelsea’s Frank Lampard, has received everything he has pointed out to the players this summer, things have not gone so well for the Norwegian.

With just a few days to go in the transfer window, Donny van de Beek is currently left as Manchester United’s sole reinforcement, and the transfer saga around Jadon Sancho appears to end without a significant result.

Withdrawn statement

Now it seems that United will go with their second option, Ousmane Dembélé, and the club will now have hopes of reaching a loan agreement with Barcelona.

After the outbreak of the crown pandemic in March, Solskjær stated that he was confident that Manchester United were in such a strong financial position that they could use the situation to their advantage in the transfer market.

At the press conference on Friday before this weekend’s meeting with Tottenham, Solskjær partially withdrew the statement.

– I think the way I expressed myself during the confinement, saying “explode”, was bad. That was not what I meant. I thought that the clubs had to do something because of the situation and that could give us opportunities. But so far, we have not been given those opportunities. We have lost a lot of money and also other clubs, said Solskjær on Friday.

– Change body language

The Norwegian was asked several questions about Manchester United’s transfer strategy and faced criticism from his former teammates.

Daily Mail body language expert Judi James thinks it’s clear that Solskjær is uncomfortable when questions about transitions come up.

– Like Boris Johnson, Ole prefers a happy and fun type of body language. When he’s more comfortable and talking about the sport he loves or talks to José, his eyebrows go up, his eyes widen, and his young, authentic smile emerges.

– When asked to buy new players, most of the joy is gone. We can see various signs of discomfort and some facial expressions and gestures that indicate a kind of helplessness, James believes.

– So far I have received support

Because there is little doubt that Ole Gunnar Solskjær wants reinforcements, even though Manchester United has yet to deliver on the transfer front.

However, Solskjær says he feels he is getting the support he needs from management.

– Of course I am very happy to work with the players I have. At the same time, part of the job is to constantly improve your stable. So far I have received support. We are working hard to be able to participate and fight with the best again, says Solskjær in an exclusive interview with Sky Sports on Friday.

Manchester United will host José Mourinho and Tottenham next Sunday at 5.30 pm.
