Trump’s chief of staff, Mark Meadows, confirms that the White House knew about the infection from Trump’s adviser Hope Hicks, even before the president left for the election campaign meeting Thursday afternoon.
This was confirmed by Meadows to CNN during a press conference on Friday.

Hicks is said to have noticed the first symptoms of the virus on Wednesday and some White House employees knew she was infected Thursday morning, CNN, Politico and Fox News report.
The White House tests give answers after 15 minutes. Therefore, the White House probably learned of the infection many hours before announcing it.
According to the New York Times, his closest advisers hoped to keep the news that Hicks was infected a secret.
