MOELV (VG) Forensic technicians from Kripos on Friday searched the burning ruins of the commercial building in Moelv with special dogs. Police are investigating the relationship between the alleged dead caretaker and a missing man in Gjøvik.
– We continue to believe that it is a criminal act that was committed in the place. We currently do not have the identity of the two dead and the cause of the fire is also unknown, police attorney Sten Floor Nelson told VG shortly before 12 noon on Friday.
Police hope to obtain the identity of the first person found after the fire on Friday.

Two previously unidentified people were found in the ruins of the fire on Wednesday and Thursday.

On Friday morning, Kripos forensic technicians were on site, including two fire dogs, and investigations began in the ruins of the fire. A construction machine has been used to remove the burned roof construction.
Both dead were found in the part of the building where it has been burned the most, confirms the police lawyer.
It says that after firefighting work, a gas container was found at the scene and that the find is being investigated. However, the police do not know if it is related to the fire.

The police lawyer tells VG that they assume that one of those found dead is a person who was doing roof maintenance.
– He was a kind of caretaker of the building and was there regularly, but we don’t know exactly when the work started, says Floor Nelson.

Police are investigating whether the other person found dead is a 43-year-old man from Gjøvik. He has been missing since Tuesday, September 29 and is still missing.
– It is true that the police have information that there was a relationship between them. We are investigating this now, but I will not delve into it. But what relationship they have is important, says the police attorney.
On Thursday night, police attorney Sten Floor Nelson told VG that two people missing in the area are part of the investigation.
– We have two missing cases; one in Gjøvik who is relatively new and a person from Nes who has been missing for several weeks. It is currently too early to say whether any of them can be directly linked to the case, Floor Nelson said.
He does not rule out further findings.
The police do not rule out that they may find more people in the search in the ruins of the fire. As of Friday afternoon, the search is still ongoing.
– Currently no one is suspected, accused or arrested, he says.
– Do you have an idea why?
– Not now, we keep all possibilities open, he says.
Police still want leads from people who may have made observations in connection with the fire. Photos and video from the dashboard camera in cars in the Storgata area in Moelv and Mjøsbrua from September 29 to kl. 08.00 on Wednesday 30 September is of special interest.

Building owner: – He has pity
– We have great sympathy for those who happen to be involved in this tragic incident. It’s tragic when lives are lost, says Klaus Bratlie of Gjøvik.
Together with Hans Bernhard Falk, he owns the building in the center of Moelv.
According to Oppland Arbeiderblad, Klaus Bratlie and Hans Bernhard Falk are recognized investors in Gjøvik and are collaborating on various projects. They bought the property in Moelv in 2014.

I was not used to sleeping
VG has been in contact with Falk, who along with Bratlie has given VG permission to reproduce the comments they have made to the newspaper.
The owners have been questioned by the police.
– We experience that everything is followed up in the most meticulous way, and that the police work very extensively in this case. We are happy about that. We are absolutely sure we have ours in the dry, but of course I would have liked to have been such a dramatic event as well, says Klaus Bratlie.
Bratlie informs Oppland Arbeiderblad that the facility was not used for sleeping.
Witnesses have observed work on the roof. Could it have led to the heat?
– This is out of the question. It is true that every fall we pass through the part of the building with a flat roof. This is done with a broom, shovel, and black bag. No heat is used in any way for this job, says Klaus Bratlie.
