Erling Braut Haaland helped spice up the match when he served Julian Brandt before the break. The German thanked and bowed for the pass and cut it to 2-1.

Also in last year’s super cup, it was Dortmund and Bayern who faced each other. At that time, the yellow team won 2-0 after goals from Jadon Sancho and Haaland’s predecessor, Paco Alcácer. Both of last season’s league games, however, it was Hansi Flick’s men who were victorious.
Bibiana Steinhaus, the most deserving female soccer referee in the world, refereed Wednesday’s match. This was her last professional match, as Steinhaus decided to resign.
