It arises from the Oslo budget proposal for 2021, which was presented on Wednesday.
– Our most important goal is for Oslo to become the world’s first emission-free city by 2030. Next, we must address car traffic, which is the main source of emissions and also generates unhealthy urban air.says Councilor for Environment and Transport Lan Marie Berg in Oslo.
Rates are increased by the same percentage for gasoline and diesel cars and electric cars. But since it is already much cheaper to park with an electric car, the increase in crowns will be much less.
The new rates will be the following:
* The price of fossil cars in the resident parking lot increases from NOK 3,600 to NOK 5,400 a year.
* The price of electric cars in the resident parking lot increases from 600 to 900 crowns per year.
* The hourly rate for street parking in the ‘yellow zone’ will increase from NOK 32 to 40 in 2021 and is projected to increase further to NOK 50 per hour in 2022. This also applies to parking for foreigners in resident parking areas.
* For electric cars, the hourly rate will increase to NOK 6 in 2021 and then to NOK 8 in 2022.
Since the price increase will be stronger for those with fossil cars, Berg notes that it will be more attractive to replace it with an electric car.
– The price difference for resident parking cards between fossil cars and electric cars increases from NOK 3,000 per year to NOK 4,500 per year., she says.
