Smedvig sells Navtor – gets US owners – E24

In record time, Navtor in Egersund has become the world leader in maritime electronics. Smedvig has sold the company to an American investment company for close to NOK 1 billion.

Accel-KKR is a global investment firm based in Silicon Valley, USA The company acquires all of Navtor’s shares from Smedvig Capital AS. The Smedvig Group had 83 percent ownership, with the last 17 percent being distributed among various small shareholders.

Accel-KKR has purchased all the shares and now owns 100 percent of Navtor. Neither party wants to comment on the purchase price, but from what Aftenbladet knows, it should be around 1 billion NOK.
