According to the president of Trabzonspor, Ahmet Agaoglu (63), Alexander Sørloth (24) has announced that he will leave the club. He will now be in talks with RB Leipzig, Tottenham and co-owner Crystal Palace.
– We will sell Sørloth for an amount of around € 30 million. Then it will be 15 million euros for each of us and Crystal Palace, says Agaoglu in an interview with the Fanatik newspaper.
In January, VG was informed that the top Turkish club has secured an option to buy the Norwegian for six million euros, which in principle will be on loan at Crystal Palace’s Trabzonspor until next summer. Also confirms Agaoglu.
He describes the agreement with the English as complicated, as it contains several elements and steps, but he summarizes it by saying that in this transition window they will share a possible sale price.

At the same time, there is little indication that Sørloth is starting a new season in Turkey. Instead, it’s time for a tug of war between José Mourinho’s Tottenham and Julian Nagelsmann’s RB Leipzig over the signing of the Trøndelag man.
VG has been unable to contact Sørloth or anyone who represents him.
Trabzonspor claimed in a press release last week that the 24-year-old has not arrived in Turkey as agreed after the previous meeting of the national team. The club also reported that it must have received an offer from RB Leipzig. According to Agaoglu, he has been between 15 and 20 million euros, while they want about 30 million euros to release him.
– Sørloth is definitely a player who would help us. He scored a lot of goals last season. If he can copy the number in the Bundesliga, that would be great, coach Nagelsmann said in an interview a week and a half ago.

That Trabzonspor is about to lose Sørloth, is in any case something that the fans do not like. The Norwegian national team forward became the crowd favorite with his 24 league goals for the team. The president of the club, for his part, believes that a sale will be part of his business model.
– Trabzon does not lose money with the players we sign. When we signed Sørloth, the fans were unhappy, but what happened? Still, Trabzon won’t end without a striker. If a player wants to leave, we act according to what is best for the club, says Agaoglu.
Tottenham coach José Mourinho himself was relatively reserved after the team’s Premier League loss to Everton on Sunday night, but the Portuguese did not deny that they are looking for Sørloth.
– I will not talk about the player, because he belongs to Trabzonspor – but if the president says so, I will not say that it is not true, said Mourinho.
