DRAMMEN (VG) (Strømsgodset-Rosenborg 3–3) Åge Hareide (66) was about to lose his first match as Rosenborg manager in 2020, but Trøndelag saved a draw after a fierce final sprint.

Strømsgodset led 3-1, but two subsequent RBK scores were 3-3.

– It was a mixture of drops. But we can’t expect everything to stop after a week, Hareide said.

– We made it difficult for ourselves, but we showed morale in the end and we are sharper than Godset then. And we could have scored 3-3 too.

Hareide’s last loss came on October 11, 2016 as Denmark coach against Montenegro, if we count the penalty shootout loss to Croatia at the 2018 World Cup as a draw. And that stat remains, even though she looked black in Marienlyst on Sunday for a long time.

– I’m very proud of our performance, but I’m disappointed that it was a draw, Godset coach Henrik Pedersen said later.

– In the end they punish us for losing the ball, but that’s what happens when we develop as a team.

After a quarter of an hour, Johan Hove played marvelously through Lars-Jørgen Salvesen, who was well away from offside, but was able to go and put the ball to a scandalous André Hansen for 1-0.

Just a minute and a half later, it was 2-0. This time it was Mikkel Maigaard who made a post against the back post, where neither Vegar Eggen Hedenstad nor André Hansen managed to prevent Lars-Jørgen Salvesen from heading onto the field. But the ball hit Hedenstad on the knee and rolled into the net.

Moses Mawa came very close on the raise to 3-0, but Hansen stopped fantastically, and right after that, Godset gave the opponents a drawdown. It was Niklas Gunnarsson and Viljar Myhra who screwed it up together, and then Torgeir Børven isn’t the type to say no thanks. He put the ball into the empty net.

– We have created good scoring chances, in which we should score. The products are aggressive and push us, Hareide told TV Norway during the break.

Despite a knee operation this summer, Hareide paced restlessly in the area where he is allowed to move.

He was no less restless when Johan Hove increased to 3-1 for Godset after an hour of play at Marienlyst. Rosenborg was spoiled after a corner kick, and the search extended the ball past goalkeeper Hansen and into goal.

Rosenborg failed to create chances in the same way after the break, while Godset, for his part, played with a lot of confidence and inspiration.

Carlo Holse replaced the injured Kristoffer Zachariassen, Dino Islamovic replaced Torgeir Børven and, finally, youngsters Edvard Tagseth and Emil Konradsen Ceide were also substituted for more speed.

But it was veteran Per Ciljan Skjelbred who would create new excitement in the match. The farm lost the ball, became unbalanced and Skjelbred shot on goal from 15 meters to 3-2.

Then it was 3-3 when Carlo Holse got in, the ball apparently going over everyone and into the net. Godset goalkeeper Viljar Myhra was outclassed anyway.
