On Saturday, Anita Hegerland was the first contestant to leave this year’s “Star Fight.” – I think maybe this is the competition for young people, he laughs.

On Saturday’s broadcast of Melodi’s “Star Wars” Grand Prix, it was revealed that Anita Hegerland had received the fewest votes from the audience after the show’s first two broadcasts.

– In a competition like this you have to be prepared for everything. The bar has been high and it will probably not be an easy decision from week to week, says Hegerland, who will closely monitor the program throughout the fall.

– There is something strangely harsh about the whole performance, despite the pyrotechnics at the beginning. Hegerland is such a strong and exciting vocalist that one should be able to expect her to hit the clock in more places than she gets here. Even with the choreography, the VG critic thought about Saturday’s performance.

In the first episode, Hegerland played “Moonlight Shadow” by British artist Mike Oldfield, her ex-husband, with whom she performed a lot in the 1980s. The couple have two children together.

This Saturday the theme was Pop and Eurovision. Later, Hegerland had chosen to perform the ABBA song “Waterloo” for guest judges Hanne Krogh and Kevin Vågenes.

Blames song selection

For VG, Hegerland says that the two songs he chose have not let him show his voice.

– It was a great wish on the part of the production that he did “Moonlight Shadow” on the first broadcast. Maybe I should have followed my heart and picked a song that I could show myself a little better on, says Hegerland, who had hoped to sing in the country and opera genres.

Hegerland also thinks it’s hard to know how good people of his generation are at voting in this type of competition.

At the same time, it guarantees that the Norwegian people have yet to see the last of her.

– It has become clear that people have missed me and I appreciate the support I have received.

– I know I got a lot of new and young followers when I was at the Farm. The most important thing lately has been to show me a bit again, says Hegerland. Now he wants to focus on getting a new album with new songs.

– You lose your breath a little

Hegerland had performed on Saturday with the ABBA song “Waterloo”. The judges thought he had chosen a difficult song, but he overcame it all.

– You lose a little breath, but you come back very strong. After working for 50 years, you could sit on the couch. Instead, you stay here and fight in the arena, was Judge Mona B. Riise’s comment.

– It looked like a scene from the movie Mamma Mia. It was clear he was having fun, said guest judge Hanne Krogh.

Kevin Vågenes thought they were happy to see Hegerland on stage on Saturday.

– There is something that happens to the voice with age, I understand it, but it has not happened to you, he presumed.
