German police confirm that five dead children have been found in Solingen, in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
– Yes, I can confirm that five children have been found dead. They were found in an apartment in a block of flats on Hasselstraße in Solingen. “We are working full-time on this case and I cannot give more information now,” Jan Battenberg, a police spokesman in Wuppertal tells VG.
According to Bild, the children are 1, 2, 3, 6 and 8 years old, all siblings. An 11-year-old sixth brother will be safe with his grandmother, writes the German newspaper.

Police and fire brigade are on the scene, reports derwesten.de, which also writes that the tragedy was discovered a little before 2 pm Solingen is located east of Düsseldorf.
