International DJ star Erick Morillo, best known for the monster hit “I Like to Move It,” was found dead in Miami Beach Tuesday morning. He turned 49 years old.

Death confirms Miami Beach police to Local 10 news website.

Police explain that they received an emergency call from Morillo’s home on Tuesday morning. The cause of death is still unknown and the death is under investigation.

Last month, Morillo was arrested after being accused of sexually abusing a woman in December of last year.

According to The Guardian, he initially denied criminal guilt, but when his DNA was found, he turned himself in to police on August 6.

At the time, Morillo’s attorney stated that he has fully cooperated with the police and noted that it is important for the public to understand that the police report only contains complaints, according to Metro.

According to the plan, Morillo was to appear in court next Friday.

According to Local 10, the incident took place at the DJ’s home. The woman told police that Morillo sexually forced him despite his refusal.

It is said that she eventually went to bed in another room, but woke up naked and with Morillo standing naked on the edge of the bed.

Morillo was born in New Jersey and gained momentum during his career in the 1990s. According to Billboard, he is considered one of the world’s first DJ stars.

Morillo has had a career of more than 30 years as a DJ, and is best known for the 1994 hit song “I Like to Move It.” At that time he released the song under his old artist name Reel 2 Real.

The song was used in popular “Madagascar” movies, among other things.

Morillo battled addiction for much of his career and was open about the battles he fought.
