NICE / OSLO (VG) Alexander Kristoff (33) came to the Tour de France hoping for a stage win. He has already arrived in the first stage, and now he will be the second Norwegian to wear the yellow leader jersey.
Before the season, Alexander Kristoff was not really going to drive the Tour de France and, together with his wife Maren, he was expecting twins during the summer.
Due to the corona virus, Kristoff had an unfamiliar summer at home with his family and twins, before getting a chance to drive the Tour de France.
He appreciated the confidence immediately, calling for a clear victory in the first stage of the Tour and at the same time driving towards the yellow leader’s jersey.
– What should I say? This is something you work for every day. That you succeed the way you do today is great. There was a lot of joy in the house, it was crazy, his wife Maren tells VG.

The victory is Kristoff’s fourth in the Tour de France, and with the victory he had the opportunity to wear the yellow leader jersey for the first time.
– It means a lot to my career (wearing the yellow jersey). Taking the winner of the fourth stage shows that I can still be there, despite the fact that I am 33 years old and have four children at home. I still perform and I know my children feel at home and are very proud, Kristoff said in the victory interview shown on Eurosport after the stage, and greeted the children and his wife Maren.

The victory is Kristoff’s first this year, but his wife is aware that he has felt good before traveling to France and that he has had a good training program during the break of the crown.
