The club president of the former United Star club believes that the Solskær club could have made the star much cheaper.

The acquisition of Manchester United by Bruno Fernandes was one of the great conversations of the winter. After much over and over again, the Portuguese superstar finally prepared for Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s club.

According to official Sporting documents, Fernandes can cost up to around £ 68m if there are more clauses. United has already paid £ 47 million.

Sports President Frederico Varandas could soon be expensive. He believes United could make the midfielder much cheaper.

50 million cheaper?

In an interview with the SIC television channel, Varandas is clear that, due to the current crown crisis, United could have made Fernande much cheaper:

– The Korona crisis has affected the European football industry in general. But this is mainly Portugal, because fifty percent of our revenue comes from player sales, Varandas said in an interview published by the Daily Mail.

– Bruno Fernandes sold for £ 68 million in January. How much had it been worth today? Maybe £ 17 million? £ 27 million? No one knows, says the director in the interview.

This is not the first time that one of Sporting’s most powerful men is loading the cannon in the direction of United, and how they completed the acquisition of the charismatic midfielder.

In February, Vice President Francisco Salgado Zenha was in the press, alleging that United had “paid what they wanted” for Fernandes, after the two clubs had two completely different perceptions of what he was worth.

At that time, he stated that it was “United who was wrong” and that it was the club in the Portuguese capital that was the big winner.

Before moving to Manchester United, Fernandees delivered a total of 15 goals and 14 goals in 28 games in all tournaments for the club, in addition to wearing the captain’s tie.

It has also proved to be a great success after the move to Manchester United. He has not experienced any losses with Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s team.

Supported by past stars

In his nine games for United before the crown crisis stopped football, Fernandes had six wins and three draws in his nine games for the team that plays its home games at Old Trafford.

He has continued to consistently deliver on goals. He stands out with three goals and four goals for the “Red Devils” so far.

It has led Jaap Stam and Ander Herrera, among others, to affirm that Fernández’s fort could be the player who makes Paul Pogba flourish again at Manchester United.

The former United stars believe that Pogba and Fernandes’ fort might be a duo to lead the red-robed again in the title match against Liverpool and Manchester City for years to come.

It has also been previously stated in the English press that Pogba should be very interested in staying at Old Trafford as a result of the success of the Portuguese star.

Fernandes himself believes that much of the reason he signed with Manchester United is Ole Gunnar Solskjær:

– For me, the confidence that the coach showed me was the most important thing. I have to know that I have the support of the coach, because it is not always the way the coach really loves you when you change clubs, Fernandes said in early April.

United are now in fifth place in the league, three points behind Chelsea, ranking fourth crucially guaranteeing Champions League games for next season.

Liverpool is on the verge of becoming league champion in England, while Manchester City is second. If United does not qualify for the Champions League through national series, it can still win the Europa League.

United are on their way to the quarterfinals in the tournament they won in 2017. They are 5-0 after the away game against Austrian LASK Linz in the eighth final.
