Thousands of bars and clubs in and around Seoul have had to close due to a sudden jump in infection associated with a 29-year-old happy.

South Korea, in recent days, has begun to ease severe infection control restrictions. But now authorities are seeking to close 2,100 bars, nightclubs, and nightclubs in Seoul after dozens of people have been infected in one of the city’s most popular nightlife areas.

Many of those infected have connections with a 29-year-old man who visited five nightclubs and bars last weekend before testing positive.

About 7,200 people are believed to have visited the five sites, and authorities asked everyone to be tested. So far, more than 50 cases of infection are related to the 29-year-old man.

On Sunday, authorities reported 34 new cases of infection in the past 24 hours, and 24 of them can be traced back to the 29-year-old.

The bars are located in Itaewon, a popular nightclub area in the capital of South Korea.

Also in Gyeonggi province, which surrounds Seoul and has 12 million inhabitants, more than 5,700 nightclubs are to be closed for two weeks starting on Sunday.

Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon says some careless people have threatened the progress made in fighting the crown virus.

Until Wednesday, South Korea began easing some of the restrictions. The country has served as a role model for the rest of the world, since the authorities, through intense detection and isolation of infections, have managed to keep the outbreak under control.

So far, almost 11,000 people have been diagnosed with coronary infection in South Korea, while 256 people have died. The country has more than 50 million inhabitants.
