In a revised budget released Tuesday, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Torbjørn Røe Isaksen (H) reveals that Nav receives an extraordinary grant of 700 million.

Just before Easter, Nav received NOK 200 million. The centers have added a total of an additional $ 900 million to cope with rising claims for unemployment benefits and other benefits after Norway closed on March 12.

– I am afraid that the outside world will increase after the crown crisis. Simply because private companies are struggling and getting a job is the most important thing to prevent strangers, he says.

– When companies struggle and more people become unemployed, who should give them a chance in working life? he asks.

Isaacs says that economic crises always affect those who have more difficulties or who have just entered the world of work.

– Many people are fired, for example, in retail. It is extra worrying.

According to Nav, there have been 428,100 applications for unemployment benefits since March 12. In comparison, it came in at 160,500 everybody 2019.

Most people have applied for unemployment benefits in the auto trade and motor vehicle repair (87,342), followed by people who work in accommodation and service (62,317), business services (36,237), and private services ( 34,773).

In industries such as electricity, water and renovation, financing and insurance, as well as public administration and some other industries, very few employees have applied for unemployment benefit.

Measured per share, almost 60 percent of all wage earners in the lodging and catering business have applied for unemployment benefits upon completion, the majority in Oslo with two out of three.

In addition, 6 percent in this industry applied for regular unemployment benefit.

Then, employees follow private services, otherwise, the proportion of applicants is 37%. In commercial services and retail, the proportion of applicants is also high, with just over one in four.

In total, the figures show that 400,000 people can be said to have been affected by “coronary artery license” and registered as job applicants after March 10, while 97,000 left the statistics during the same period.

He says there is tremendous work pressure at Nav, while employees must spend a lot of time adapting their systems to new and changed schemes.

– The most important thing now has been that people get the money they have in mind. This means that Nav has prioritized the least precarious tasks.

He says it is very important for Nav to start regular work quickly to prevent people from leaving work permanently.

– U.S forced invest in people, increase competition and knowledge. For example, give people the opportunity to get the professional certificate they never got. This is precisely why the 900 million is important.

You are interested in starting the treatment of victims’ cases again social security scandal. Some of these cases were also suspended.

As of May 7, NOK 2.4 billion has been prepaid for unemployment benefits.

The figure is expected to be significantly higher. Now Nav processes 3000 applications per day against 430 pr. last year’s day.

Typically, there are about 200 social workers in the area of unemployment and layoff benefits. Now the figure doubles more through redistribution from other parts of Nav.

Another 100 temporary social workers will start in May.

Isaksen had barely sat in the chair of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs when the crown crisis hit. Regarding The departure of the Frp government in January became the former Minister of Industry, and before that again Minister of Knowledge, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs.

Hub expects to be up to date with unemployment benefits by end of July

Self-critical take

He says that his great project in this field should be to fight against the outside world.

– We were already in danger of obtaining a permanent subclass. With the crown crisis, I’m afraid this may accelerate. My big project has to be to prevent it from happening.

It is open to the fact that the Solberg government has failed to halt that development.

– In Norway we have created a society that has incorporated new and large groups into the welfare society. In the past few decades, there have been signs that it may change. We see the contours that not only individuals, but entire families can fall outside. The danger now is that this is cemented, that we will have a permanent underclass that will carry strangers from generation to generation.

  • Recent SSB figures show that the proportion of children growing up in persistent poverty continues to rise.
  • From 2017 to 2018, low-income households sustained increased from 10.7 to 11.3 percent.
  • Much of the increase is due to the fact that many children with a Syrian background are now included in the low-income group.
  • Six out of ten children in this group have an immigrant background.

– The easiest, then, is to reverse the cuts in money to clarify the job, reintroduce the inheritance tax and increase social assistance?

– No, no, that’s a total derailment. The left’s response to these challenges is forever focus on taxes and benefits.

He says increasing social assistance in isolation will help, but only in the short term, and that risks rather than ending up outside of working life.

– The most important driver of inequality is that you stop outside working life. Is the We have to do something about it. Also, immigration is a very important factor.

Go around the problem:

– Low income is not cause outsiders. The reason why individuals and families fall apart and children grow up in relative poverty is much deeper. Low incomes are a symptom of the underlying causes of strangers. We must observe where inequality and strangers arise. It’s in kindergarten, school, access to work, not on the tax bill.

He says that social policy, education and working life must be seen in their context in a whole new way.

– It requires a completely different way of thinking about politics, even for the right.

You will begin to work to see these areas in context, also in light of the crown crisis.

He says school and education are by far the most important arenas to equalize differences. No less important for immigrants.

– It is surprising to see the enormous importance of family history for grades in primary school, even in a society of similarity such as Norway. And how it characterizes the rest of your life.

He says fighting against dishonest working life, which especially affects the weakest, is also crucial. It will present a new strategy against labor crime in 2021.

– There are grotesque conditions in some parts of the world of work. People are smuggled into Norway and working under conditions of slavery. Some employers steal workers’ wages. This is done through decorative words like underpayment and low fee payment.

– I am willing to use much harder tools to combat this and I want close cooperation with the parties.

He mentions the government requirements for apprentices in public procurement, but also the Skiens and Oslo model, which has requirements for permanent employment, professional letters and apprentices.

– We will do more, and then I will see if any of the local models can provide a good national policy.

Want to increase union deduction

He says that organized work in Norway is a good basis to combat dishonest players. At the same time, it is concerned with the decline in the level of organization in parts of working life.

Isaksen will support the union organization. ensuring a “good union deduction”.

– The right is for today’s deduction, but in the next program we should not formulate it so that it cannot be increased, as we can understand today’s program. But with that said: I don’t think a higher deduction is a universal key to getting more organized. But a weakened deduction can eventually result in less.

The deduction has been frozen since the Solberg government took office in 2013.
