The Georgia Bulldogs added a large piece of the puzzle on Monday when a surprise promise was made De’Jahn Warren, the No.1-ranked cornerback in the junior college ranks at 247Sports, selected the Bulldogs over Penn State.
The 247Sports Crystal Ball went to the Nittany Lions, but behind the scenes, this one is over for a while.
Finally, it was a feeling about the coaching staff that came the four-star CB prospect.
“Because Georgia just feels at home, listening to the coaches, I feel confident in how they will use and develop me,” Warren said.
Defensive coach in Georgia Charlton Warren was the main recruiter for the Bulldogs and had a great relationship with Warren.
“He’s a real stand out guy, he’s telling me how it’s really going to be here, he’s really keeping it with me, I just feel like it’s the best fit for me,” he said.
Warren told the UGA staff privately a few weeks back that he was a silent commit and it was great news for the head coach.
“Coach (Kirby) Smart was really happy, I made his night when I told the staff I was a dog,” he said.
The 6-foot, 175-pound prospect wants Georgia Bulldogs fans to know this about him before he arrives in Athens in December.
“I will leave a legacy there, they may not know me at the moment, but they will know when I will come out,” he said.
With her season postponed at Lackawanna CC, Warren will be taking a few classes online home and reporting to Athens as soon as he can in December.
He becomes the 14th verbal commit for the 2021 class for the Georgia Bulldogs.
