House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday that Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden should not talk about President Trump before election day.
“I do not think there should be debates,” Pelosi reported voluntarily at the end of a press briefing.

The leading Democrat’s call for Biden to sit out the debates comes after former Vice President Trump’s campaign rejected his request for more than three debates.
Trump sees an opportunity against Biden after using debate forums to crush a series of competitors in 2016. This month, Trump unsuccessfully asked the Commission over presidential debates to start one of the debates with Biden after early September so voters can vote before sending mail-in ballot papers.
Trump often claims that Biden, 77, is senile, and suggested on Wednesday that Biden be drug tested for the debates to ensure he does not use performance-enhancing drugs.
The first debate is scheduled for Sept. 29 in Cleveland, Ohio, followed by an Oct. 15 debate in Miami, Florida, and an Oct. 22 debate in Nashville, Tennessee.
Biden campaign spokesmen did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
