GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Starting July 20, Meijer will require shoppers at all of its stores to wear face masks, the Walker-based retailer announced Friday.
Meijer announced on July 11 that, in response to Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s executive order, he would require all shoppers at his Michigan stores and service stations to wear masks.
Friday’s announcement applies to all Meijer stores and service stations in the footprint of six company states: Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois and Wisconsin. Meijer has more than 240 locations.
The company says customers should wear masks unless they “have medical conditions that prevent them from wearing face covers.”
“We encourage customers to consider using Meijer Home Delivery or curb pickup as alternative options for their purchasing needs,” the company said.
