Lucifer Season 5 Final filming disrupted by Coronavirus shutdown

Netflix has taken a break Luciferhis fifth season finale. Star Tom Ellis reveals in an interview with Da Man that the final episode of the new season was less than half finished when production went into coronavirus-induced lockdown. “We were agonizingly close to packing, but lockdown hit us,” Ellis says. “So, we still have 60 percent of our final five finals to shoot.” What to expect when production pays off, Ellis says, “It will be challenging to say the least. We had to find a way to stay safe while staying productive. Movie sets are usually a basket of activity with people making constant adjustments. and tweaks at last in small, confined spaces. Now, with the constraints, everyone has to take their turn to do their job, so it will have a big impact on how much we can physically shoot in a day. “

Ellis also asked a fan of what fans should expect from the new season of the series, saying, “Well, we thought for a long time that we’re making the final season of Lucifer, so we decided on the mentality of ‘going big or taking home’. Subsequently, most episodes are closer to an hour than normal and they are full of fantastic stories and performances. We welcome the legend that Dennis Haysbert is in the cast to play God and some of the scenes I & # 39; ve done with him are one of my favorite moments since the show started. I think people will love him. I know I do! “

Lucifer Season Five will release in two parts, with the first arrival on Netflix on August 21st. Season Five is no longer the last, but the penultimate season of the series, as Netflix ordered the sixth and final season of the show earlier this year.

The fifth season of Lucifer will start with the Morningstar still in hell after the fourth season finale. Lucifer’s fifth season includes a special episode of noir style. That experiment was born out of Netflix’s order of six additional episodes of the season.

“When we went from 10 to 16, [at] at first we were like, ‘How do we do this?’ But literally we were within three days, ‘How could we ever have told the story without these stories?’ “Henderson said in an interview.” This was a big one, because it finally gave us such an opportunity to explore Lucifer in an early version of himself. The great pleasure of the Princess Bride device is, because he tells the story, he is basically the characters we know and put love into. He replaces a hard-boiled detective with Chloe Decker [German], another character with Dan Espinoza [Kevin Alejandro]. The fun of it is who Lucifer chooses to be who and what that says about how he sees them. [It’s] also super fun to see actors wildly play other roles than we are used to seeing them. “

Lucifer Season Five premieres on Netflix on August 21st.
