Edgaro Ulanovo represented by Fenerbahche Istanbul (10/14) continues the longest winning streak in the Euroleague right now and at home, having secured the last quarter, 92:84 (25:25, 22:18, 19:22, 26:19) defeated Zenit of Saint Petersburg (13/9).

This is the ninth consecutive victory for the Istanbul team, while Zenit enters for the third time in a row. The Russian club has not yet had such a series, only to the downside.

The whole match was very tenacious and intriguing, and the strength Fenerbahche gained in the second half was so fragile that Zenit kept trying to nullify it. It reached a maximum of only 8 points – 66:58.

Billy Baron finished the third quarter with free throws, a two and a three, and thanks to his, the difference of Zenit was reduced to a minimum of 65:66. He continued the good part even after the break: he nailed a three-point stick, scored his 10th point in a row and led the Russian club forward, 68:66.

Nando De Colo pushed his team forward and gave them back the lead (80:74), and Jano Vesely’s free throws brought him closer to victory – 82:74. With just over 4 minutes to go, Artūras Gudaitis added a penalty, and KCRivers added a much-needed triple a little later: 78:86. The opponents had already managed to gain a significant double-digit lead, which did not start easily, and A. Gudaitis did not seize the easy opportunity.

Will Thomas and Kevin Panga added free throws (82:88), still giving Zenit a chance, and KCRivers could have narrowed the gap further, shooting from a distance. Thomas’ fines reached the goal, but Melih Mahmutolgu and Mark Gudurich melted the hopes of the guests – 92:84. The last 20 seconds remained a formality.

E.Ulanov scored 8 points (3/4 double, 2/2 penalty) in 17 minutes, bounced 3 balls, made a successful pass, caused a foul, violated the rules 3 times and scored 9 utility points.

A.Gudaitis scored 11 points (3/6 doubles, 5/6 penalty) in 27 minutes, bounced 5 and took 2 balls, made a successful pass, once made a mistake, 2 – made, caused 6 fouls, scored 18 utility points.

Thomas, who scored 21 points, played his most productive game in the Euroleague.

Fenerbahce: Nando De Colo 24 (7th ed.), Marko Guduričius 19 (5/7 trit.), Jan Vesely 16, Dyshawn Pierre and Edgar Ulanov – 8 each.

„Zenit“: Will Thomas 21 (Rev. 6), KCRiversas 14 (4/7 trit.), Billy Baronas 13, Artūras Gudaitis 11, Kevin Pangos 10 (7 res., 1/6 trit.).
