According to him, currently 4 members of the Seimas are missing from the LVŽS to elect the leader of the opposition.
“Small factions will pull and walk until the last minute so that the leader of the opposition is not elected here and now. The LVŽS should start negotiations (…), since the leader of the opposition is chosen from among all the people of the factions of the opposition and the mixed group. To elect the opposition leader LVŽS, the “peasants” lack four votes from the members of the Seimas. It is possible that a mixed group will come to ask, “he said.
R. Žemaitaitis believes that the leader of the opposition is needed because he could represent the opinion of the opposition in the Board of Seimas.
“I just want to say that the leader of the opposition is needed, because according to the Statute of the Seimas, he acquires the right to participate in the Board of the Seimas. Now the Board has acquired the right to determine the work of the Seimas remote sessions. Therefore, it is more important than ever that the voice, ideas and thoughts of the opposition are generated in the Board of the Seimas. (…) This is especially necessary in state life and in the development of legal acts, ”says R. Žemaitaitis.
