On Sunday, before the Kaunas “Žalgiris” and “Šiauliai” team duel, prizes were presented to the strongest Betsafe-LKL team from the previous season: the “Žalgiris”.
For the Temporal Capital Club, this is already the 22nd national championship trophy. It was introduced to team captain Paulius Jankūnas by Betsafe-LKL president Remigijus Milašius.
The gold rings that made it to the champion team were made by the PREMIÈRE jewelery house, which has collaborated with LKL for 10 years.
“This year the rings are made of fine silver, we cover them with pure gold. In addition, the unforgettable season will be immortalized and we will avoid a blank page in the history of flowers, “said Vytautas Jonutis, founder of PREMIÈRE Jewelery House, before the awards ceremony.
There are currently nine basketball players in Žalgiris last season: Thomas Walkup, Lukas Lekavičius, Nigel Hayes, P. Jankūnas, Karolis Lukošiūnas, Artūras Milaknis, Martinas Gebenas, Rokas Jokubaitis and Marius Grigonis.
The gold rings will also be awarded to the team’s former head coaches and other players who played on last year’s team: KCRivers, Erik Vensk, Zach LeDay, Jock Landale and Edgar Ulanov.
This ring became the fourteenth captain of the “Žalgiris” P.Jankūnas. A veteran in this category is firmly in the first place: the closest to him is now A. Milaknis with nine rings. E.Ulanovas (6) and L. Lekavičius (5) also got on the table.
