Vilnius “Rytas” midfielder Marekas Blaževičius decided to leave the capital club and play in Kaunas “Žalgiris” next season. Lithuanian champions paid a ransom for the promising 18-year-old.
Kaunas residents officially announced the conclusion of the three-year contract.
“It was a really difficult decision because I was already a foot abroad, but then Robert Javtok called, I had met the coach. It has changed everything to where we are now. I think it will be a good decision,” Blaževičius said, communicating with Žalgiris television crew.
Ryto’s new coach Donaldas Kairys and club management really wanted to see Blaževičius in their ranks, but the player and his representatives decided to take a different path, according to Ryto’s press release.
