– I heard a lot of positive comments about the company, I was interested in the prospects and
I decided to apply, I was accepted to work in the procurement department. This company is the largest dairy processing company in the country, which has been operating for many years, so it was interested in its viability, dynamism, work full of new challenges and excellent conditions for improvement. I have been working here for almost a year. I also like the fact that opinions are heard, experience is taken into account and Rokiškio sūris is constantly growing and updating the technologies we work with.
– What are your daily responsibilities?
– The main task of the Procurement Manager is to ensure the rational supply of the necessary materials and raw materials to the production workshops. Verify compliance with applicable regulations and the needs of the company by updating all technical documentation of these materials, record discrepancies, report.
Karolina BEKINTĖ – microbiologist: “We have excellent conditions”
What led to working with AB Rokiškio sūris?
– After graduating I worked for a time in the capital, I also had to work abroad. When I returned from my vacation to my native Rokiškis, I decided to stay. Drawn by its peace, familiar and charming places, I missed my family. You wouldn’t think for a long time where to look for work: AB Rokiškio sūris is one of the largest food industry companies in Lithuania and the largest in Rokiškis. In fact, as a high school graduate, I would consider working in a lab, so after choosing the exams, I decided to study biology. I was very happy to have the opportunity to work in a position related to the specialty. The stability and respectability of the company were also impressive.
– What were your first impressions at work?
– I have been working for the company for 6 years. It took me a while to get used to the size of the factory, the abundance of equipment, the volume of production. After all, everything must be checked to meet the standards, the requirements of buyers. Also surprising is the ideal order in the workshops, the quality of laboratory work. –
– Tell us about your work.
– I work as a microbiologist in the accredited laboratory of AB Rokiškio sūris. The staff of the Microbiology Laboratory takes samples of the hygiene, the production process and the final products and determines the amount of pathogenic microorganisms in them. Basically, we make sure that food is microbiologically safe for consumer consumption. We have excellent conditions for it. We are equipped with all the necessary equipment and tools, which are periodically inspected and calibrated. This ensures the reliability of the research results. The qualification of laboratory personnel is also verified.
– What makes you happiest at work?
– I see more and more young professionals in the company, it is gratifying. I think they bring new ideas, innovation, maybe a slightly different approach, which is important to keep up with global trends. At the same time, the old men are respected, they are like the “base” of the company.
Rasa LINGYTĖ – dairy producer: “The most innovative technologies are used”
– Why did you decide to work in the food industry?
– When I was a schoolgirl, I dreamed of working in my hometown. This also led me to the choice of studies, my specialty is related to the food industry. I have been working at Rokiškis Cheese since 2018. –
– What’s your job?
– The most innovative cheese production technologies are used here. The highest quality, safety and food hygiene requirements are met. The company has wonderful people, excellent specialists in their field, with whom we solve everyday problems quickly and efficiently.
My duty is to ensure that delicious and high quality cheeses enter the market, which is why I oversee the production process and ensure its efficient operation. And this includes the analysis of production indicators, optimal use of raw materials and cost control and product quality assurance.
MEŠKUOTIS blankets – engineer-technologist: “There were no doubts about where to get a job”
– When did you start working for AB Rokiškio sūris?
– The first contact with AB Rokiškio sūris took place about 10 years ago, when I decided to earn money during the summer holidays. This is how I started my “career” in this company and every summer I was expanding my knowledge. Seasonal work probably determined my decision about what to study, and there were no doubts about where to get a job. Curiosity led me here. I have been a permanent employee of the company for two years, I became a teacher while still studying a master’s degree. When I graduated, I was offered the position of an engineer-technologist.
– Tell us what the technologist-technologist has to do. What are the biggest challenges?
– At work, as in life, the biggest challenges arise unexpectedly: failures, discrepancies, then you have to make lightning decisions and weigh the risks. The work is diverse. It is necessary to calculate the production volume, determine how much raw material is needed to produce a certain amount of production, check the theoretical and actual calculations. We have a lot of communication with customers, experiments are carried out, tastings are prepared, during which we evaluate our products. I contribute to product safety and quality control. The funniest part of the job is the guided tours, it’s nice to see people’s glowing eyes and hear that heartfelt “wow” when you see hundreds of tons of cheese. Finally, the quality and speed of the work is guaranteed by the company’s internal system, which allows finding the necessary information quickly and easily.
– What motivates you to work here?
– “Rokiškio sūris” is constantly being renewed – equipment, technological lines are being built, computerized or renewed. It is said that in the future, companies will seek to automate the entire production process to avoid direct contact of the product with humans. I wonder if our companies are also expecting that. Will no one change a person after all?
