Please note that information materials to help you understand the latest requirements can be found on the websites of NVSC and other institutions. Since September 13. In the provision and use of contact services that require a passport of opportunity, the requirement to wear masks and other means has become a mere recommendation. For example, masks cannot be worn when using beauty services, which can currently only be provided with a passport of opportunity.
While using services that do not require a passport for opportunities, such as public transportation, education, social services, cultural services such as libraries, museums, etc. attendance, the requirement to wear masks remains mandatory.
However, epidemiologists urge us to assess the risks ourselves (we spend about an hour in a hairdresser, the contact with the service provider is close enough) and to decide responsibly whether or not to follow the recommendations for wearing a mask in such conditions.
“Now we realize that some people may have been very much looking forward to the time when they will not be able to wear masks even after September 13. He put these measures aside. Of course, when using services where it is checked Passport compulsorily, this right is granted to individuals, however we want to encourage all masks to continue to be worn in public meeting places, even though we have the necessary documents.
After all, September 13. nothing has fundamentally changed: the epidemiological situation remains tense, the delta strain remains dominant, so why should we abandon a measure that can reduce the risk of spreading the virus in the environment? ”Asks epidemiologist D. Razmuvienė rhetorically.
There is no effective remedy
NVSC epidemiologists emphasize that all the emerging measures to handle the COVID-19 situation in Lithuania only complement the existing measures and not only one of them works better, but only their entirety. Therefore, once the passport of opportunity is presented, we ask everyone to remain responsible and protect themselves and those around them.
Remember that by getting vaccinated we not only reduce the risk of contracting or suffering from serious forms of the disease, but we also increase the public immunity necessary to control the virus, that is, make it less dangerous.
By choosing not to get vaccinated, but to get tested for COVID-19, we reduce the risk of the virus spreading at work, school, public events, or gatherings. At the same time, we can more quickly detect asymptomatic carriers of the virus and thus prevent its spread.
“As we can see, the opportunity passport only allows us to be responsible for our own actions and to have a more solid knowledge that other people around us are equally responsible, that is, they attend public meetings because they have immunity against diseases or vaccination or you have a negative test result I do not want the tension to continue about the appearance of a passport to opportunities.
Especially since almost all of Europe has this or that tool. All countries, including Lithuania, are looking for various possible ways to increase society’s opportunities to avoid closure, which probably no one wants anymore ”, considers D. Razmuvienė.
The separation of the terms “requirements” and “recommendations” in the legislation is a legal aspect: in one case, a person is liable (even a fine), in another, not. However, epidemiologists urge that the principle of responsibility towards oneself and others be followed first. We will not deter the virus with fines and we can act responsibly.
