The decision to count the votes was made by consensus of the CEC members on Thursday. The CEC received a request from the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party (LSDP) to recount the votes in this constituency, as the first vote recount in Utena raises questions about transparency.
During the second round of the Seimas elections, Utena constituency scrutiny revealed that the leader of the Social Democrats Gintautas Paluckas and the conservative candidate Edmundas Pupinis had received 7,075 votes each.
On Monday a vote recount was organized in Utena, then 7072 votes were found for E.Pupinis and 7070 votes for G. Paluckas. voter.
The final results of the Seimas elections are scheduled to be approved on Saturday.
