They were brought there in mid-August last year. But officially, despite stories and eyewitness testimony, such a place did not and does not exist, reports currenttime.tv.

The Belarusian section of Radio Svoboda spoke with some former prisoners.

The publication also received photos sent by witnesses of what a special camp set up for detainees looked like.

Radio Svoboda’s interlocutor, Zmiter Chvedaruk, had to visit the place himself.

The detention center, according to the detainees, is located about 100 km from Minsk. It is in the woods, away from prying eyes. As the map shows, there is a preventive medical institution no. 3, for the compulsory treatment of patients with drug and alcohol abuse.

However, according to witnesses, in mid-August last year, the place was turned into a special camp for protesters detained for several days.

Chvedaruk was arrested on August 9, the first day of protests in Belarus. He was booked into a prison near Sluck on August 14. Until then, the man had spent several days in solitary confinement in Minsk, Okrestino street.

These were his first impressions of the place of imprisonment: “A dark night, almost without lighting, takes people one after another. Line up, forbid raising your head. You can only see that there are people with guns and dogs. “

Once on the scene, the detainees were informed that they had been found in the Sluck detention center. They were then housed in barracks. In total, about 150 people were taken to the camp together with Z. Chvedaruk.

“When we tried to fall asleep, we saw clean windows, a forest and fences in the distance. However, in the morning we woke up surrounded by a barbed wire fence that ran completely the length of the windows. So the people who were there and guarding us built a barbed wire fence overnight. It surrounded not only the entire territory of the institution where we were, but also all the barracks-type houses that were in that territory ”, said Z. Chvedaruk.

Witnesses sent photos of the camp taken in August to the editorial office of the Belarusian branch of Radio Svoboda. A painting shows the armed men controlling the area.

The author of the photo, who did not want to reveal his identity, said that on August 10. The Belarusian Prison Department was instructed to “urgently” prepare one of the territories for the organization of the camp.

“It was decided to use the institution of preventive medicine no. 3, located near Sluck. The people treated there were urgently transferred to other institutions. August 12, this place was prepared to house citizens detained under paramilitary protection, ”said the witness.

Several detainees confirmed that the photos actually captured the place where they were held in August.

The BYPOL opposition initiative, which unites former employees of force structures, on January 15. released an audio recording, according to a statement made in October last year during a meeting with military deputy minister Mikalay Karpiankov with militia officials.

In the recording a man named by activists as Karpiankov is heard demonstrating powerful new pistols bought in Russia to fire rubber bullets, and mentions that Aliaksandr Taraikovsky, who died in the August protests, “died, of course for a rubber bullet. Chest. “

In the text of the conversations heard on the recording, which were also published by the Belarusian news portal Tut.by, M. Karpiankov emphasizes that “a Russian traumatic weapon, at close range, is no different from combat.”

The man heard on the recording also said that “all those who are currently taking to the streets to participate in the rail war, blocking roads, attacking militiamen, throwing Molotov cocktails – the same terrorists – are unnecessary people in our country.”

“Use the weapon against him directly in the forehead, right in the face, right there. After that, he will never … return to the state he was in. Well, he will revive, he will revive. He won’t have half his brain anymore, well, there you have some, ”says the person at the registry.

The alleged N. Karpiankov also hinted at the need to establish a special camp for arrested protesters and opposition supporters.

“A database is being created. According to this database, whoever gets stuck a second time has [arešte] And stay. It is ordered to prepare and establish a camp … – not for the military, not even for internees, but for those who have a particularly sharp helmet to isolate the camp. And fenced with barbed wire … Keep them there until everyone calms down, “the man said.

Pavel Latuška, Head of the National Anti-Crisis Board (NAV) and member of the Presidium of the Opposition Coordination Council, promised to pass the record on to the United Nations Security Council, the European Council, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. (OSCE) and the Council of Europe.

“We will raise the question of recognizing the Lukashenko regime as a terrorist,” the opposition said.

He added that the Belarus Central Board for the Fight against Organized Crime and Corruption (GUBAZiK) and the special forces of the OMON militia (AMAP) should be internationally recognized as terrorist organizations.
