Arnas, who witnessed the homeless arrest, was at the store Friday night. After buying the merchandise, he sat on the bank and watched the cashier say something to the security guard, after which the latter went somewhere and soon returned with a drunken homeless man.

Arn found it strange that the security guard and the detainee went through the security rooms (they were filmed) and took him to the bathroom. An employee of the security service Grifs AG opened the bathroom door, ushered the detainee in and closed it. Immediately afterwards, knocks were heard from the bathroom (the witness counted three) and moans.

After turning on the phone’s video camera, the guy opened the bathroom door and saw a thief standing on a bathroom pole as a security guard. A plastic beer bottle that fell from the bag rolled on the floor.

The security guard who walked away saw that he was being filmed and quickly closed the door.

“Those images surprised me. The store staff saw where the security guard had taken the detainee, but no one wondered why he had closed the bathroom with him. Perhaps that is what happens in that store all the time: it takes the stolen goods, destroys them and throws them, ”said the witness of the event.

The guy called the police. While waiting for officers, a security guard approached the witness several times, still asking him to clear the record and go his own way. Then the insecure guy went out to wait for the patrol.

When the officers arrived, Arna was attacked by a store clerk: “Why are you filming my salesman ?!” The woman kept calling someone and threatening to testify in court to film. When Arnas told him that “a man is beating you in the store, and you did nothing to stop him,” the employee, according to a witness, told him: “You know, that you cut that person, it is important for me not to enter in the frame “.

The Drunken Thief (1.07 avg) said he has no claims against anyone and will not write a statement to the police. Then it became clear that he could not write.

After a while, the man agreed to sign the statement if someone wrote it for him. The police officer offered to write a statement for the illiterate victim based on his words. But since the victim turned out to be drunk, she was asked to make a sober statement.

An administrative fault report was drawn up for the homeless man for the robbery, and then he was transferred to sobriety at the “Sala” shelter. And a security guard launched a pre-trial investigation into self-government.

On Saturday, Vaida Budrienė, communication manager for retail chain Iki, commented once again on this event: “We apologize to the victim and all buyers for this event. We are currently explaining the exact circumstances of the incident to the representatives of the security service that provide the services to the retail network, whose employee is the person seen in the images. We do not tolerate such situations, so we will review the procedures so they never happen again in the future. We will also discuss our cooperation with the security service itself.
