Traffic conditions get worse when climbing
The Highway Administration reports that due to previous or continuous snowfall, the most difficult traffic conditions in Šiauliai, Jurbarkas, Molėtai, Vilnius, Prienai and Marijampolė districts. Here, the sidewalks of the main roads are mostly wet or damp in places with wet or threadbare snow, and in the districts of Kretinga, Šiauliai, Anykščiai and Vilkaviškis there are also icy stretches of roads.
In the rest of the country, the sidewalks of the main roads are mostly wet or humid, with ruts in some places. Regional roads with less intensity of traffic throughout the country with a layer of compressed or loose snow of up to 10 cm, in some places there are frozen sections of road. Snowy and slippery road sections remain, but drivers are asked to pay attention to the fact that the roads are slippery, so do not rush, do not make sudden maneuvers.
Light snow in the northeast of Lithuania, in some places raining, in other parts of the country no rainfall. Air temperature 2 to 7 degrees below zero, in places up to 13 degrees below zero.
