In case of serious ailments, the doctor can prescribe medicines and it is enough to take nutritional supplements in a prophylactic way ”, explains the pharmacist.

According to the pharmacist, when taking probiotics we should not fear that we will still get them with food and therefore, overdose, their excess is eliminated from the body. However, it is important to consider the recommended probiotics for use by age groups: probiotics in children will not be effective in adults and probiotics in children will not be effective.

Pharmacist K. Kudzinskienė says that probiotics can be used by everyone, and when we can, we can also evaluate them according to our own well-being: they can be used periodically prophylactically or if necessary.

Probiotics are often used to treat bloating, constipation or diarrhea, symptoms of canker sores or dermatitis, and many other diseases.

It is important to note that the use of probiotics is not a substitute for a balanced and healthy diet, and eating healthy and varied foods may require the additional use of probiotics much less frequently. However, the pharmacist points out that the use of various drugs, stress, changes in the environment can cause dysbiosis, so in such cases it is useful to take additional probiotics.
