He was considered a scoundrel because Lithuania allegedly passed a law allowing migrants to be shot at the border. Authorities say they have a plan for what they will do, if the Belarusians try to push the inverted migrants back to Lithuania.
The government tends to build such a fence on the border, especially a pyramid-shaped cut wire near Belarus, a concert barrier. Three meters high and wide, it is proposed to build a 4 meter high metal fence next to it. Part of the fence is left on the ground to prevent breakage, and another concert band is on top of the fence.
“The budget for such a project could be 152 million euros,” Rustama Liubajev, head of the State Border Guard Service (SBGS), laid out the plans on Thursday.
The government will present amendments to the Seimas next week so that the fence can be built avoiding red tape as soon as possible.
Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė asks the opposition to say if it has any proposals now.
“Because, as always, during a project like this, the most common criticism is that such a thing was needed, but not like this,” said the prime minister in the government after a meeting with representatives of the parliamentary parties.
The government proposes that the construction of walls be organized by energy companies with experience in large projects.
“We will look for the most practical solution, probably in the Epso-G group,” he said.
Epso-G has built an electrical connection with Sweden and the Litgrid group company, led by Rock Masiulis, is implementing an electrical connection with Poland.
“Whichever company is chosen, we will say so later. But it will be an energy sector company,” said the Prime Minister.
The opposition promises to support the construction of a fence as soon as possible to protect against illegal immigrants.
“They are not fleeing the war, they are being transported specially. This must be the border, it must be done as soon as possible ”, assured Algirdas Sysas, the largest of the faction of the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party in the Seimas.

Opposition leader Saulius Skvernelis said a fence was needed.
“There is no doubt that it will be a sustainable investment in the long term. And I think it would be difficult to expect changes in Belarus. It will definitely not be an investment of a month or a year,” explained S. Skvernelis.
After a two-week break, a concert hall is being reinstalled on the border. It is already placed on three floors, as planned in the final design of the future fence.
“It just came to our notice then. And the concert hall is already being built on the Druskininkai firebreak. We hope that those works will progress quickly,” said Interior Minister Agnė Bilotaitė.
The number of illegal immigrants entering Lithuania is decreasing. And going back to Belarus, hundreds of groups of people turn around. And this is already becoming a concern for Lukashenko.
“They passed a law that allowed migrants to be shot, hit, pressured, poisoned, real scoundrels. They showed their true face. (…) We have to worry about the last meters of our border and here the greatest responsibility is yours. To this day, no foot can enter the territory of Belarus, neither from the south nor from the west, “said the current leader of Belarus.
Lukashenko asked the commanders of the power structures to give new instructions.
“Close every meter of the wall. Not in vain have we invested a lot in the border forces. The nation must feel calm. They need to know that there are men who can protect her. God forbid, they will begin to implement tactics when the people invited by them are expelled there through official controls. You know the consequences, they are too. So think, we warn you and let you think, “he said.

And Lukashenko let the generals agree.
“If Lukashenko really takes care of border security, he takes care of borders, it would be amazing here,” Interior Minister A. Bilotaitė said.
“Those changes could be that in some way, it will be difficult for them to accompany illegal groups in a very secret way. The participation of their officers, which is still visible, will be more than obvious, ”National Defense Minister Arvydas Anušauskas told LNK News.
According to him, part of the immigrants who were not allowed to enter Lithuania were forced to wander through Belarus.
“The illegal immigrants returned by us have now only been detained, some of them report numbers several times less than what we do not allow in Lithuania. This means that they have detained only part of them, and others are apparently distracted somewhere. instead of the border, which causes problems for them, “said the minister.
According to the interior minister, Lithuanian officials have a plan on what to do if Belarusians try to push migrants who are not allowed to enter Lithuania right next to the border again.
“Apparently, there can be all kinds of scenarios, because everything can be expected from the Lukashenko regime. But it is very clear that Lithuania will certainly not allow illegal immigrants. And all our forces are currently focused on that,” the Interior Minister explained. A. Bilotaitė.
Pushing thousands of Iraqi figures over the border, Lukashenko is under increasing international pressure.
The Diplomatic Service of the European Union summoned a representative from Belarus and demanded that the flow of migrants to Lithuania be stopped.
