Witnesses to the incident recorded special services flying to the scene of the accident and a column of smoke after the explosion.
The latter was so powerful that people living even a few miles away could be heard and awakened.
The house exploded on Mažosios Lietuvos street, very close to the Lieporių settlement. Own house, new. Constructed of blocks, it completely collapsed during the explosion.
Another witness to the incident captured rescuers extinguishing the flames. The video was filmed the last minutes after the explosion. Two people had already been pulled from under the rubble: a married couple.
Forty-six for a man and forty-seven for a woman. Both in serious condition were transferred to the Šiauliai hospital and are being treated for resuscitation.
The woman was also reported to have burned her legs. There were no other people in the house.
The spouses have children, they rushed to the scene of the disaster later.
The house completely collapsed during the explosion, inside there was a garage with a car. She was covered in ruins.
The cause of the explosion is now being investigated by specialists. According to preliminary data, the house was quite modernly equipped: heating and hot cooking were carried out without the use of gas.
But witnesses say that the car in the garage was equipped with gas equipment.
It is not yet clear if an explosion occurred when they leaked.
Police say they have no information yet that any crime has been committed.
According to neighbors, the affected spouses were not in conflict, people did not know that someone was threatening them.
