WRITING
“Alpha Class” teachers Jogailė Gudaitė and Augustina Kundrotaitė comment:
“The first writing assignment didn’t surprise me. The task asks you to write a semi-formal letter, whose main task is to provide the requested information to the conference organizer in order to participate in the conference. The most important task in this type of task was to provide all the necessary information, to meet the requirements of an adequate semi-formal letter structure and to avoid grammatical inaccuracies.
The second writing task, unlike the first, was somewhat unexpected. Unexpected was not the topic itself, but the type of essay chosen by the writers of the assignment. Contrary to the usual, this was not an essay or a dissenting essay.
In this part of the writing, students had to indicate at least two reasons why young people follow opinion leaders and what consequences this has for their lifestyle.
This type of essay is really rare in state tests, so many students do not know the proper structure required for this type of essay. It will be interesting to see the results of the students this year. “
