The Palanga Police Station reminds both resort guests and townspeople that when staying on the beaches by the sea, as in other public places, certain rules of public order and conduct must be observed. Among other things, it must be taken into account that the consumption of alcohol is prohibited on the beaches.

It is also forbidden to wade and swim in the sea when the red flags at the rescue posts or on the shore do not allow it. Especially a great taboo for those, regardless of the flag they fly, who will think of cooling off in the waves of the sea after consuming alcohol or narcotic, psychotropic and other psychoactive substances. These offenses are punishable by fines of 100 to 900 euros.

As in previous years, this summer on the beaches of Palanga, public order is supervised by “saddened” officials on four wheels. And today, the police station of the complex also received a technical reinforcement – a drone with extremely good technical properties was received.

“In the past, we borrowed a drone from time to time from the Klaipėda Police Chief Commissariat, and today we received a new one specifically for the needs of the Palanga Police,” said Algirdas Budginas, Head of the Palanga Police Commission, to Vakariniai Palanga.

The drone can “offer” to go home

The new drone will be used to monitor the situation on the beaches of Palanga. “We will see the beaches more on land because what happens in the sea is more work for lifeguards. The flight capabilities of the new drone are more than 200 meters from the launch site. Then the officer, coming, for example, to a sea bridge, will launch the drone and observe the situation on the beaches a few hundred meters on one side of the bridge, then on the other side.

You will then head to another location on the beach. Greater attention will be paid to the absence of alcohol on the beaches and the absence of intoxicated people.

The drone you receive today also has an audible warning capability, so don’t be surprised if the drone will offer to go home when you drink alcohol or if you are obviously intoxicated by alcohol or any other substance. Alcohol has no place next to water, so disaster prevention is very important ”, commented the resort’s police chief in“ Palanga Occidental ”.

A. Budgin said officials don’t really target intoxicated people to immediately write administrative misconduct protocols and impose fines, violators are warned in the first place. But if these warnings are ignored, people can also face financial penalties which, as mentioned, are really hefty.

When asked if there were frequent reports of other types of indifference, such as men ignoring a sign on the beach stating that an area reserved for women only began and they crossed that part of the beach surrounded by naked members of the fairer sex, the commissioner said such signs occurred. .

“Sometimes we get reports that someone is hiding somewhere hiding there looking at a naked woman, of course we react and go to the place. And since the men cross the beach, the men are very active there, they do their thing better than any police officer, ”said the commissioner.

The heat hit Lithuania

Police supporters are very helpful

The forces of the Palanga Police Station will not change this summer, the number of agents is the same as last year. However, as in any warm season, Palanga residents will receive reinforced seconded officers. About twenty people from other precincts will assist the resort as needed this summer.

“Police supporters who came to Palanga from all over Lithuania also helped us a lot in the summer. Every weekend, four volunteer volunteers monitor video cameras in the city, helping with public order and traffic control. Now there are almost thirty video cameras installed in different places in Palanga, so the participation of the sponsors is really of great help to us ”, said the commissioner of the resort to Western Palanga. According to him, a person from any Lithuanian city who has the status of a sponsor of the Lithuanian police can help the Palanga police.

At the beginning of next week, Palanga will receive a reinforcement from the cavalry police. Every day, in the recreational areas of the resort, for example, in Birutė Park and on the territory of the Amber Museum located there, two orderly officers will maintain public order.

On the beaches of Palanga it is forbidden:

wade and swim when prevented by red flags at rescue posts or on shore;

bathing for children under 14 years of age without adult supervision;

leave children under the age of 14 unsupervised;

to visit animals and bathe them in the sea, with the exception of the beach area for animals, which is located in Nemirseta, about 8 km from the center of Palanga;

consume alcoholic beverages;

playing sports outside the physical (active) area of the beach or putting vacationers in danger;

polluting the environment (bodies of water and their banks) with household and other wastes;

swimming or swimming while intoxicated or intoxication by narcotics, psychotropics and other psychoactive substances.

The Palanga police recall that bathing in prohibited places or during the prohibited time, bathing under the influence of alcohol or other psychoactive substances is punishable by a fine of 100 to 300 euros, and for repeated offenses, up to 900 euros.

Police officers, along with police sponsors and rescuers, will actively monitor beach safety and order.
