Landsbergis, without denying that some people simply sought international attention when comparing the management measures of COVID-19 with the Holocaust.
“It is an aggravation, an elevation of emotions and feelings, even trying to turn it into a kind of international emotional tension. There may be messages abroad. And it will be a great achievement if you report that some half-minds in Lithuania have compared pandemic restrictions to the Holocaust. There wouldn’t even be anything to discuss inside the mind, but that’s really offensive to those who really know what the Holocaust is. Stupidity is stupid, but it can also offend. We cannot be offended, and the victims of the Holocaust can be offended ”, the president of AT-AS is convinced.
The professor stressed that the government is taking the appropriate measures to handle the pandemic at this difficult time, and that it is necessary to speak more directly with those who ask for the refusal to vaccinate and make it clear that they are responsible for the spread of the coronavirus.

And you have to tell them this: and when your children get sick or your parents age from suffocation. Maybe you brought that infection. Don’t vaccinate: accept. be a source of infection, a carrier. ELTA recalls that the protest against the COVID-19 restrictions, which continued from Tuesday morning until the Seimas, turned into riots. The rallies that blocked the entrances of the Seimas were rejected by the riot police who arrived at the scene. A police officer was injured.
Riot police officers used tear gas against the protesters and took out the most malicious protesters. The police officers led the assembled demonstrators away from the doors of the Seimas, allowing the parliamentarians to leave the Seimas.
Ambulances also arrived at the scene.
However, the protesting crowd does not keep leaving the Seimas, chants “Shame”, “Wait for Šimonytė!”.
On Tuesday, protesters greeted parliamentarians gathered for the extraordinary session of the Seimas with stylized bitters with the inscription “Place of Lithuanian traitors”, and participants in the event also brought a faux barbed wire embraced by the stars of David. Some of the event participants also hung the Stars of David on their clothes. The protesters tried to attract attention with sirens and shouts “Seimas lauk”, “Shame”.
The protesters carried Lithuanian flags and posters with the inscriptions: “Do not restrict the rights and freedoms of the people, but the unconstitutional decisions of the government”, “Let’s take back our state”, “Let’s wait for the government of Šimonytė”, “Don ‘Do not vaccinate the ghetto “.
During the event, the participants also voluntarily signed a resolution that will be presented to President Gitan Nausėda.
The permit to protest before the Seimas was issued until 5 in the afternoon.
The police have launched a pre-trial investigation into the organization of riots near the Seimas. According to General Police Commissioner Renatas Požėla, the responsibility for the violations recorded during the rally will lie with the event organizers.
