Police Commissioner General Renatas Požėla told a news conference on Monday that officials had reacted to information published in the media.

“Our officials met with officials from the municipality’s Public Order Department and saw violations,” R. Požėla told reporters.

“All visitors to the café were fined and the owner of the company received an invitation to come to the Vilnius city municipality, probably due to the initiation of administrative procedures,” he said.

Police Department spokesman Ramūnas Matonis BNS specified that six visitors to the cafe had been fined and that its owner was being invited to an administrative hearing.

The delfi.lt news portal reported on Saturday that people gathered on the covered terrace of the Vingis Park cafe.
