Vilnius will support developers affected by the coronavirus crisis

“We have no doubt that this additional support will allow for the recovery of the cultural sector in Vilnius, and at the same time throughout Lithuania, even faster after the pandemic,” said Edita Tamošiūnaitė, deputy mayor of the capital who oversees the cultural sector.

According to the municipality, lossy organizations and cultural and artistic creators will be selected by a panel of experts.

The representative of the municipality, Neringa Kolkaitė, informed BNS that the applications of artists and creators must meet certain criteria.

One of them: the proposed event will have to belong to one of the types of professional performing arts: theater, dance, ballet, opera, classical music, performing arts.

Among other things, priority will be given to organizations that distinguish themselves in the international arena, that can adequately represent the name of Vilnius and Lithuania, and nurture the culture of the capital and the country.

The municipality affirms that it has planned 0.5 million for the implementation of this measure. euros
