Vilnius College students received an email on Saturday evening. letters with a warning from the university administration that the students’ personal data had been leaked due to possible data theft: first name, last name, personal identification number, home address. After contacting the university representative D. Buslavičius, explained that the information is not a lie, the university registered a case of data leakage and informed its students about it, listed what data was leaked. According to D. The fact that the students’ data may have been stolen was confirmed by Rita Liepuonienė, the college’s deputy director of studies, writes the lrt.lt portal.
“So far we are explaining and I cannot say anything more precisely. Our information technology center is now open, there is a lawyer involved. So far, I cannot say how and under what circumstances it happened, ”said the deputy director.

Portal 15min.lt notes that the Lithuanian Science and Studies Information System (LieMSIS), from which data may have been leaked, is also used by other higher education institutions, including Klaipeda University, Klaipeda State College, the Graičiūnas Higher School of Management, Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuanian Higher Education Institution, Maritime School, Alytus College, Klaipeda State College.
