“God forbid, how difficult”
Patients in the Vilnius City Clinical Hospital find it difficult to collect words.

“You know, honey, I don’t know where I got it from, and if I need this now, it’s in the first place. God forbid, how difficult it was, very difficult. Those who are not vaccinated are the last fools,” said Vilius, who has a severe form of COVID-19, to a journalist from the program “Karštai su tv3.lt”.
Helena, a resident of the Vilnius district, is no longer breathing. His life is supported by oxygen devices.
“It just came to our knowledge then. I thought everything was in order, I was sitting at home, everything would be in order,” said Helena, who was very ill.
The woman is still conscious, but is likely to undergo pulmonary intubation and artificial immersion in a coma. This is the only way left to save her from the clutches of COVID-19.
“The patient’s condition is very serious, he has recurrent viral pneumonia, it has a severe course and there is severe respiratory failure,” said Ramunė Radzevičienė, Head of the Department of Cardiology at the Vilnius City Clinical Hospital with Intensive Care Units.
Almost all seriously ill people are not vaccinated.
Almost all of these seriously ill patients are not vaccinated.
“I was seriously ill and it was my fault for not getting vaccinated and showing up at the hospital,” Tatiana said.
“I know where it would infect me. I got it from a friend, we drove together in the car. He coughed, coughed and coughed. The friend is now lying in Santariškės, he has been abandoned by the liver and is also under the apparatus, he has not been vaccinated either, ”said Remigijus, who is seriously ill from COVID-19.
Many of these seriously ill patients would give their all to go back in time and have access to a vaccine to prevent the course of a serious illness.
“I never thought I could hit like that. I have been sick for 8 days, at a temperature of 39, my lungs are inflamed and my kidneys are disconnected. Now I will only get vaccinated if I survive, because it is scary, it is very scary, “said Remigijus.
Unfortunately, many of these patients who are still alive will no longer be saved.
“Extremely serious patients have not been vaccinated here. They have not been vaccinated against COVID-19 infection. Their condition was constantly deteriorating, they developed very severe respiratory failure and had to be hooked up to an artificial lung ventilator. Even during the ventilation, the condition of these patients is critical and the prognosis is likely to be unclear, ”said Dr. R. Radzevičienė.
There are no more openings at the hospital.
There are no more openings at the hospital. All beds are occupied, doctors already have to choose what to rescue and what to leave without resuscitation.
“It just came to our knowledge then. He wants to not want to, but again he will have to decide again who to give more intensive treatment. They don’t want to do that, they want to try to save everyone, but apparently not everyone will survive,” said Robertas Skalskis, chief from the intensive care unit of the Vilnius City Clinical Hospital.
“The situation is deteriorating, our departments are filling up. We no longer have an internal department, cardiology and rehabilitation. The flow of patients is huge and unstoppable: each vacancy is filled immediately with new patients,” said Vaiva Karpavičienė, coordinator of the Vilnius COVID-19 City Clinical Hospital.
Not only the patients are sick, but so are the doctors themselves. Department coordinator V. Karpavičienė – the first day after illness.
“I was sick for 4 days. According to our definitions, a mild form of covidium is read, but there was discomfort, there was a temperature of 39 and pain and weakness, and a loss of taste, smell. But I did not go to the hospital, I am not connected to respirators. I am at work, I am strong, I feel good. My struggle lasted 4 days, “said doctor V. Karpavičienė.
