It was predicted that these elections could turn into a landslide resurgence of the Labor Party. In several members, this political force obtained 9.47 percent. votes and obtained 9 seats.

Is it a lot or a little? Vigilijus Jukna, the leader of the Labor Party list, and Viktor Fyodorov, the party’s representative, spoke about this at a press conference on Monday.

Party chairman Viktor Uspaskich joined remotely because he was ill.

On Sunday night, party chairman Viktor Uspaskich said the party would have about 20 seats after the second round.

On Monday, V. Uspaskich remotely thanked voters for actively participating in supporting the Labor Party.

“It is a really gratifying result, the number one goal; to become a parliamentary party, we have achieved it, even though someone tried to write it for us, everything is in order here,” he said.

V.Uspaskich praised the party’s program and stated that no matter who forms the coalition, the “workers” will offer to implement their program points.

“I am sure that the need for this program is in our country at the moment, nothing can be done without it. Therefore, no matter which side the Government is formed on, we are ready to cooperate. We are not interested. in any of these posts, just to somehow contribute to the welfare of the state by taking another element of the Labor Party program. I don’t want to sacrifice the party program for posts, “said the party chairman.

He added that the programs would not want to sacrifice “for any position.”

A.Guoga, ranked first, did not appear

When asked who sees himself in the party: conservatives or “peasants”, V. Jukna said that the most important thing is the provisions of the program and the possibility of implementing the promises to the voters.

According to the politician, consultations are taking place between the parties, but it is too early to speak specifically.

“The results are really gratifying, good,” V. Jukna evaluated the results on Monday.

According to him, the Labor Party was very active in the election campaign, traveled a lot in Lithuania.

He noted that the party has the best candidate for prime minister, namely Viktor Uspaskich.

“It is too early to talk about possible electoral puzzles,” he emphasized.

Voters placed Antanas Guogas in first place, list leader V. Jukna was second. A.Guoga did not participate in Monday’s press conference.

“It just came to our notice then. There is just a lack of time to be physically here and work as a single member,” he said about the fact that he was not very successful as a single member. V. Jukna stressed that it was from a situation where only a small percentage was collected.

“I am not the last one left,” he added.

In fact, V. Jukna remained sixth in the Kelmė-Šilalė single-member constituency, with 5.58 percent. votes.

V.Jukna explained that the difference between him and A.Guoga on the ranked group list is really small.

V. Fyodorov added that the members of the list do not measure who received the most votes, because they see themselves as a team.

“We should call Mr. Guoga and ask where he is,” answered V. Fyodorov to the question of where A. Guoga was. He explained that the participation of A. Guoga was not planned.

In the 2016 Seimas election, the Labor Party stayed out of bounds: it did not get 5 percent. votes cast and did not enter the Seimas. This time, only two single-member members of this party have become MPs after the second.

On Monday, the BNS news agency will hold press conferences of the ten political parties with the most votes to discuss the results of the first round of the Seimas elections.
