“We hope that there will be no more exponential growth. Not if there were those doubles, but not in a week, but in two weeks, it would already be a true result, showing that the quarantine is already beginning to work,” said A. Veryga.
He said he doesn’t see the possibility of the quarantine being lifted in three weeks, even if the situation improves.
“Only to the extent that the government reviews the measures every week, even with minimal adjustments, does life show that there is something good and something that cannot be thought about. (…) In three weeks, the Government will return to deliberations in any case, and I have little doubt that it will extend the quarantine. It’s just a question of what the conditions will be, “said A. At the same time, however, he suggested not ruling out that if the disease continued to spread, all children could switch to distance learning.
“Those possibilities are one way and another,” he said.
Hospitals will fill up
The minister also stressed that it is only a matter of time before hospitals in all regions fill up.
“It is no longer possible to distinguish a city or region where the disease has spread. Tensions arise in medical institutions in all regions. Then, unfortunately, we will have to use the smaller hospitals that surround us,” said the minister.
When asked what the number of infected doctors would already be critical, A. Veryga emphasized that one of those cases could lead to a job.
“The illness of any doctor, especially if he is a doctor, in a hospital can be critical, because if important departments fall, it is already an emergency situation and it is no longer possible to continue working and the institution has to reorganize its activities.
It is probably difficult to count a critical number for any common country, because not everyone is sick forever. After recovery, people return to work. (…) It will not be the case that all the doctors get sick and fall, they will go back to work ”, said the Minister.
According to him, doctors only get infected in a medical institution and not there, apparently, it is the main source.
“When you know you are going to an infected patient, you can dress, protect yourself, wear protective equipment. But when people gather for dinner together, they don’t spend time sitting dressed under security level 4 and they don’t protect themselves. We all have the opportunity. to infect ourselves no matter where we are and it no longer makes sense to point to medical institutions, ”the minister explained.
Decisions will be reviewed on Wednesday
According to the Minister, several clarifications should be presented to the Government tomorrow.
“It just came to our knowledge then. A clarification concerns the use of masks for children 6 years and older, as there are misunderstandings about children in kindergartens, some of whom are 6 years old and some are not.
Another clarification is regarding the rental of the premises, because now we see that certain requirements are being circumvented, gambling rooms and the like are being rented and an action is being carried out there, ”said the Minister.
