“The following versions of the investigation are being tested: disaster due to technical failures of the aircraft’s equipment; catastrophe due to improper performance of the crew members’ duties; inadequate performance of the functions of the persons responsible for flight control; inadequate maintenance of the aircraft and its preparation for the flight, ”the report reads.

For his part, the Deputy Minister of the Interior, Anton Heraščenka, announced that DNA tests would be required to identify the victims of the An-26 plane.

“Currently, Ivan Kozeduba University [oro pajėgų universitetas, kurio kariūnai skrido lėktuvu] organize work with relatives. “All have been called, and today we will take DNA samples, because, unfortunately, some of the dead will be identifiable only by comparing their DNA with that of their loved ones,” Heraščenko said on the air channel “Ukraine-24” on Saturday.

“Every step is recorded in photos and videos, because all this is necessary to reconstruct every second of the disaster,” Heraščenka said.

The An-26 military plane of the Ukrainian Air Force, which was conducting a training flight, crashed on the night of September 25 and landed at Chukhiv airport in the Kharkiv region.

There were 27 people on board: 20 cadets and seven officers from the Kharkiv Air Force University.

According to the latest data, 26 people died in the disaster, one, a third-year university, is being treated in a hospital.

Another victim, who was hospitalized in serious condition, died, reported the State Emergency Situations Service of Ukraine.

President Volodymyr Zelensky signed an order declaring mourning in the country.
