Steve Vasturia, who became Kaunas’s first newcomer “Žalgiris” this summer, is already sweating at the “Žalgiris” stadium with the Lithuanian champions and is preparing for the next season.

The 25-year-old American moved to Kaunas from Vechta’s RASTA team, and previously played for the ALBA and Palencia clubs in Berlin.
After the first official training session in the new team, the defender shared his thoughts with the Žalgiris TV team.
“Since I moved to Europe, I have heard ‘Žalgiris’ and the team is being watched. It is an incredible feeling to be part of such a good team. All men want to play at the highest level and compete in the Euroleague.
While I was in Spain and Germany, it was great to see the Euroleague with so many good teams and players. This is the top tier and I think it will be a great challenge. I am ready to learn and improve, ”said the new Žalgiris resident.
Although a longtime friend of Martin Geben’s team faces a lot of competition at the NCAA Championships in Lithuania, Vasturia says he is prepared for it.
“Everyone is here to compete and the main objective is victory. I think when I come here my job is to fight and do everything possible in my training sessions and games to help. My goal and that of the team is to win as many games as possible. I think we have a great team and I’m really looking forward to starting the season. I hope we have no problems and the season is over, ”said the newcomer to the team about the goals for next season.
Last season in the FIBA Champions League, Vasturia scored an average of 11.8 points per game, bounced 4 balls and had 5.3 assists per 30 minutes.
In the German championship, his figures were similar: 13.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game.
“I do more or less everything in the square. I can control the ball and shooting is what I try to give to all the teams I play for. As a player, I always give 110 percent of myself and contribute to the team in various ways. I earn team points for my teammates. I try to do a bit of everything, ”the new owner of the 32nd edition of the Žalgiris jersey highlighted the strengths of his game.
